Parent Workshops

The Partnership is committed to offering parent training in the areas of child development, behavior management and other topics that strengthen families. We are looking for individuals and programs willing to co-sponsor workshops and parent support groups in the next school year.

Choosing Childcare:

There are many things to consider as you are choosing an early education and care program for your young child. Your local Community Partnership has brochures and information to help guide you as you make this critical decision. Please contact the CRCPC office to have an informational packet mailed to your home.

Early Education and Care Financial Assistance

Are you struggling to pay for childcare? Massachusetts has a small allotment of childcare vouchers and contracted slots for families who meet income and activity requirements. If you are out of work, looking for work, disabled or going to school, and your income falls as outlined below you MAY qualify for tuition assistance for your child through the Massachusetts Low Income Childcare fund. There is currently a waiting list, but your local Community Partnership Coordinator can place you on that list!  Please, Contact the CRCPC for more information!

Children with Special Needs

Are you the parent of a child with special needs? Are you concerned that maybe your beautiful little boy or girl is have some developmental delays? If so, research has proven that early identification and intervention with young children can have tremendous long-term results. Developmental Screenings
Each public school in our community holds preschool screenings for its residents. Each town does it a bit differently, but here is the contact information and procedures. If you have questions about this process, please contact the CRCPC for more information!

Family Ties of MA - Family TIES provides parent-to-parent support, information and
referral services, and workshops to ensure that parents feel confident in caring for your children with special needs. Family Ties also handles all Early Intervention referrals.
Early Intervention is an integrated developmental service available to the families of children, between birth and three years of age, for whom there are developmental concerns due to identified disabilities, or whose typical development is at risk due to certain birth or environmental circumstances. (www.massfamilyties.org/ei/eiwelcome.php)

Off to Kindergarten

Is your child going to be starting kindergarten in the fall? This can be an emotional time for both you and your child, but we at the Charles River Partnership are here to help you through the process.

Each town handles the transition just a bit differently, so we have gathered the following information from each of our 5 towns (Dover, Medfield, Medway, Millis and Sherborn) so that you know just where you stand as the year progresses. If you have any specific questions, please try to get in touch with the town contact.

Early Childhood Resource Center at the Norfolk Public Library

The Early Childhood Resource Center is funded by the Massachusetts Dept. of Early Education and Care and is housed at the Norfolk Public Library.  This center contains a wide variety of materials, services, and programs for teachers, administrators, students, child care providers, and parents who work with young children. Professional resource books, parenting books, videos & dvds, teaching curriculum kits, themed picture books, big books, and many other items are available for borrowing at no charge.
